Alban is a last-year PhD student in River Restoration and Management (FLUVIO PhD program). His doctoral research investigates trade-offs at small-scale hydropower, in particular, those of run-of-river type with regards to environmental flows, hydrologic alteration, and energy production maximisation. He holds a five-year integrated diploma in Civil Engineering from Polytechnic University of Tirana, a master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Epoka University and another master’s degree in Hydraulic Engineering from Grenoble Institute of Technology. His research interest involves several sub-fields of Ecohydrology, Ecohydraulic, and Water Resources Management; namely: environmental flows, hydrologic alteration, river hydraulics, habitat modelling, hydraulics of structures, hydropower plants, floods, and droughts. Alban has been working for three years as teaching assistant and three years as civil engineer where he has been involved in different tasks (designer and project coordinator) at several national and international projects. Alban likes very much reading new books during his spare time.
